Siegmeyer of Catarina

Overview

Location

Seven locations across an extended questline: (1) Sen's Fortress, outside the gate; (2) Sen's Fortress, cliff edge near boulders, after both Bells of Awakening; (3) Anor Londo, high courtyard, after redirecting a boulder; (4) Firelink Shrine, near the bonfire, following the Anor Londo stage; (5) Blighttown, poison swamp, after leaving Firelink; (6) Lost Izalith, near the Demon Ruins boundary; (7) Ash Lake, near the first bonfire, for his final encounter with his daughter Sieglinde.

Access condition

Each stage requires having progressed his questline correctly at the prior stage; some request specific player assistance (see dialogue progression).

Can die

yes

Death or hostility conditions

Can die in the Lost Izalith pit if the Chaos Eaters there defeat him while his health is too low -- his questline only continues if he survives that fight with at least roughly 50% health remaining. Separately, if the player kills Sieglinde of Catarina after having already saved Siegmeyer in Lost Izalith, he is left in a permanent dormant state rather than reaching his Ash Lake conclusion. Becomes hostile only if directly attacked.

Keeps selling if hostile survives

not applicable

Dialogue progression

Requests player aid at several points across his stages: help clearing a path at Sen's Fortress, help against Silver Knights at Anor Londo, moss clumps at Blighttown, and assistance against Chaos Eaters at Lost Izalith. His daughter Sieglinde tracks and eventually reunites with him at Ash Lake once his full questline has been carried through successfully.

Relocates

yes

Relocation note

Sen's Fortress -> Sen's Fortress (cliff) -> Anor Londo -> Firelink Shrine -> Blighttown -> Lost Izalith -> Ash Lake (final).

Note

One of the longest single NPC arcs in the game; see Sieglinde of Catarina's record for the daughter's parallel half of this questline.
