Overview

Location: Darkroot Basin, appearing near the edge of the lake where the Hydra was fought, during the death animation of the Golden Crystal Golem.
Access condition: Requires killing the Hydra in Darkroot Basin, then defeating the Golden Crystal Golem that spawns behind it; she appears during that golem's death animation. After appearing, the player must answer "Yes" to her question about needing her magic to unlock her as a merchant -- answering "No" makes her disappear permanently for that playthrough.
Can die: yes
Death or hostility conditions: Despite functioning as a rescued/summon-adjacent NPC, source states she genuinely can be killed. Her summon sign also disappears temporarily once the Broken Pendant (DLC) is obtained, returning only after Manus is defeated.
Keeps selling if hostile survives: not documented
Dialogue progression: After Manus is defeated in the Chasm of the Abyss (DLC), she appears at the boss arena and realizes it was the player, not Knight Artorias, who ultimately rescued her from the Abyss.
Relocates: no
Relocation note: Her availability is gated (see access_condition) rather than her physically moving location.
Note: See Elizabeth's record: if Dusk dies, Elizabeth (who sells Dusk's remaining unpurchased spells at Oolacile Sanctuary) dies too on the player's next visit to her.
